As mentioned above, we don’t read letter by letter. We scan for patterns we recognize. This is also why it’s so difficult to read anything written in all capital letters. The pattern of the words change. You imagine people are shouting at you because you need to spend so much extra time and concentration reading WHAT THEY ARE SAYING!

Schmancy Hotel Art

I recently accuired the knowledge for making the type of artwork cropping up at the fancy-schmancy mod hotels. You take a single pixel row and expand it to fill the canvas. It’s impossible for two to ever be alike. Even if I did this again, it would not be the same. Not sure if I like it or not, but there you have it. Left: the original donor photo.

Always and Forever: Jackie & Charlie

Jackie and Charlie see being married so close to Halloween as a bonus. Each year on their anniversary, after the kids are asleep, they each choose parts of the leftover Halloween costumes and really go to town. They hate seeing the costumes only being used once. This year, it looks like Jackie will be sporting an Eagles helmet and knee guards, while Charlie dolls up in a blonde afro and love beads. Hey… if this is what keeps them interested, who are we to judge?

Dental Arts Of Maywood

Our family dentist and orthodontist is Dental Arts Of Maywood in Maywood, New Jersey.

We have never left without paying. We have great insurance with MetLife. We have a credit on our account (meaning we’ve paid too much and they didn’t bother to send it back).

Today, I saw a truck that used its back-panel space nicely. On it, in big letters was…

I was too busy reading the truck while passing it to notice whose truck it was so I could give credit, but I liked the saying. More trucks should use that big, empty space for something positive. “Wash Me” is getting old.

Cookies and Brotherly Love

This is a notice to all you gals out there that have brothers… or all you boys that like to bake and have brothers (we’re open-minded here at NeverWriteItDown)…

It’s great to bake cookies for friends, co-workers, lovers or even spouses. But, remember this, your brother is not only blood, but will last longer than all those other people and will be your only real (original) family when your parents die. Wouldn’t it be a good idea to bake some cookies for that one tried and true man in your life. The one you’ll never get rid of, no matter how many stars you wish upon?

To the outside world, we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other’s hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time.

Update: Today, 11/3,  my sister delivered a huge batch of delicious white chocolate macadamia nut cookies (and wedding soup!). So all you brothers out there… there is indeed hope.
